Anniversary of Allan Boomer and Jeanell Boomer

Allan Boomer and Jeanell Boomer celebrated their anniversary on August 16, 2011.
Allan Boomer, 34, Financial Advisor. Graduated from New York University Stern School of Business, MBA, 2004. Lives in Somerset, NJ.
Jeanell Boomer, 35, Loving mother and wife. Graduated from Morgan State University, BA English, 1997. Lives in Somerset, NJ.
We met at Morgan State University (Baltimore MD) in a Sports Journalism class. Despite being on a small campus together for nearly 2 years, we never crossed paths until this random elective course that Allan was taking for an "Easy A." Little did he know, that he would get more than a good grade, he would also leave class with a soul mate.

After class one day, Jeanell (a Senior) walked up to Allan (a Sophomore) and put her "mack down," leaving the underclassmen uncharacteristically speechless. Upon composing himself, he asked for her phone number. He courted her over the next few weeks through a series of inexpensive but really sweet dates in such places as the campus cafeteria, the student center and movie nights in her dorm room.

Mid-way through the semester, youth and immaturity nearly derailed their love for good. They broke-up after only a few months, and did not speak to one another for over 2 years. During this period, Jeanell moved across the country to Los Angeles, while Allan embarked on his career in Finance in the NY/NJ area.

Prompted by the D'Angelo song "One 'Mo Gin," they endeavored to reconnect in 2000. They got engaged in 2001 and married in 2002.
The summer of 2012 will mark our 10th year of marriage! We have been blessed with 3 wonderful children (ages 2, 4 and 6 - one girl and two boys), who are truly a gift from God. Over the past 10 years, Allan's career has flourished - he received a fellowship to attend graduate school and embarked on a Wall Street career that started at Goldman Sachs and led him to launching his own investment firm in 2010. Jeanell has successfully ascended the Public Relations world, but has put things on hold to focus on her most valuable asset - her children.
