Our wedding took place on Feb. 7, 2012.
Prince Andre Corbett, 30, Recruiter with Minnesota Resource Center. Graduated from Metropolitan State University, B.A. in Small Business Management and Entrepeneurship. Lives in Minneapolis, MN.
Cicely Carr, 27, Community Partnership Specialist with Girl Scouts. Graduated from Concordia University, Masters of Educational Leadership. Lives in Minneapolis, MN.
So we met ONLINE!!! I was on there blogging and writing poetry, he was on the site to reconnect with old friends. I saw his profile and it was like a light just emitted from the page and singers were in the background. I wanted to see if he wanted to chat and see where it could go. At first he was not trying to talk to me because he was not on there looking for a woman and he felt he did not need to meet women on the internet. But what sparked his interest was when he said he was on his way to a Gospel Concert and I asked who Darnell Davis and the Remnant? And he was like ooohhh she kinda knows her Gospel music. Ever since we have been intrigued and connected to each other. We discussed in the beginning that we are not dating just to be dating and were looking for a serious relationship where marriage was the goal. But the dating was and still is amazing. I could just listen to him for hours talking about his past, his present and the future. He never made me feel less than. The biggest supporter and encourager ever.
We started premarital counseling sessions, so I knew the proposal was coming. Also, he sent someone an email and they responded back and he wanted me to see what they wrote but he forgot to delete what he wrote and I read "I am seriously thinking about proposing in February" so yes I WAS EXPECTING it just didn't know exactly when. But on our 4th session the pastor was like well this is the last session, I am not counseling you on how to be bf/gf. So afterwards we went to Chilis and he proposed. It was cuter than that but only have 600 characters ;) But I was laughing while he was proposing.
